Youth and worship music

One of the issues I run across in youth ministry is how we do worship music with students.  I am keenly aware that what we do with them today will impact the way they perceive worship music in the future.  I ran across a Gospel Coalition Blog piece that linked to this article which made the following points.  It’s worth reading the article to see the rationale behind each of them (which I did not include here)

1. If we, the congregation, can’t hear ourselves, it’s not worship.
2. If we, the congregation, can’t sing along, it’s not worship.
3. If you, the praise band, are the center of attention, it’s not worship.

In working on the weekend events that we do in our diocese, these criteria dictate which worship music leaders we choose to use.  We have lots of talent to choose from in our area, but not all get these ideas clearly.
