About…

I started this blog over a decade ago with the hope of encouraging youth ministry folks that I work with to think deeply about what we do with students. I’ve sought to expose people to issues, ideas, and resources that they might not have learned of otherwise. I have been in full time youth ministry since September 1986 and have served churches in the Chicago suburbs, Cheshire England, and then for two decades what is now The Anglican Diocese of South Carolina. My current role means I work with churches and youth ministers rather than one congregation but I also work with student leaders from across our diocese.  Additionally, I served for many years as the president of Young Anglicans Project a non profit that created an initiative called Engage to train small churches to do youth ministry without creating programs or traditional youth groups. For many years I was also on the steering committee of Rooted Ministries which holds what I believe to be the best youth ministry conference in the United States as well as an amazingly helpful blog.

This blog was originally called “FusionMusing” because our monthly youth ministers gathering was known as Fusion.  The new name is reflective of my vision for churches to engage children, youth, college age and beyond. I have a desire to see every congregation engaging every generation.
