Oops

Time has slipped past and I’ve not been updating as much as intended. A bigger oops though relates to a blog post on urban legends that we in ministry tend to perpetuate. You may have seen this, or may find it shocking like I did. I suspect a few will be rather bothered by the things we have been told as true that are not documentable as true. They include such common ones as:

1. The “eye of the needle” refers to a gate outside Jerusalem.
2. The high priest tied a rope around his ankle so that others could drag him out of the Holy of Holies in case God struck him dead.
…and…
4. There was this saying among the sages: “May you be covered in your rabbi’s dust.”

It’s also interesting to read the comments where people are wondering and arguing about various other things they have heard over the years.
