More worship perspectives

I posted a link and thoughts on worship recently but it is a subject that is so important that I click on links to worship articles and blog posts fairly often. Relevant Magazine posted a good article titled Are we thinking about what we say to God during worship? It raises important questions.

A blogger (Doug Paul) listed 15 things that worship leaders do that annoy him. Many of them I can relate to and see all too often. His comments are peppered with humor and it makes a great read. He lists:
Nonsensical words, Singing in keys no one else can sing in, Singing the refrain 8000 times in a row, Butchering a good song for the sake of being different, Scared to death of silence, Talky talky, Unbalanced song selections, Too many new songs, Selfish worship leader, and Terrible theology among them. When he comments on worship leaders looking over primped, I think of those I see who don’t show respect for others (particularly older generations) by the way they present themselves. It’s a list worth reading!
