An article in The Birmingham News on the Rooted Conference from last week. Ashley Null was amazing. Brilliant man who is warm and pastoral. He teaches and does research much of the year and serves as chaplain to the US Olympic team. I hope we can get him to speak to our youth ministers at some point. He speaks of grace rather than law and of breaking the tendency toward perfectionism and performance in our jobs. Very refreshing.
(I should note, if you explore the link, that I registered as a participant and encouraged many to attend but in a last minute change to the line up, was asked to “pinch hit” as a speaker for one session.)
