Key Components of Anglicanism

Crossway is about to release a new book by the late J.I. Packer titled “The Heritage of Anglican Theology” which looks like a great resource to help people better understand Anglicanism. They also just published an excerpt from the book on their website. It is an article that can be found here. It is excellent! The components are listed below. Read the article to understand what he means by each. I find there is a great hunger for knowing more in the area of defining Anglicanism. The most read blog post I have ever published here or on my previous version was on Anglican Distinctives in Youth Ministry.

Packer’s Components:

Authentic Anglicanism, first of all, seeks always to present itself as biblical Christianity.

Second, Anglicanism is liturgical.

Third, the Anglican Church is evangelical.

Fourth, Anglicanism is a pastoral form of Christianity.
