Five Reasons Millennials Aren’t Leaving The Church

In a YS email, a link to this was offered but the version YS was putting out was really watered down and offered enough to satisfy the curious without the need to seek to know more.  It stated that millenials are not leaving the church because they crave: Jesus, the Bible, community, service, and purpose.  When you read the article though this is a really weak characterization.  They crave the real Jesus including the difficult stuff, the whole Bible not just the popular parts, intergenerational community and not just community, places to serve, and a great purpose. This is a great example of soundbite communication.  When we just get the bare minimum we can totally miss the significance of what was intended to be communicated. The article states the cravings of millenials are as follows.

1) They Want More of Jesus Christ

2) They Want to Read the Whole Bible

3) They Long for Intergenerational Community

4) They Are Looking for Places to Serve

5) They Are Desperate for a Purpose Greater Than Themselves
