I have long been concerned that we’ve socialized our Christian students into an understanding and experience of worship that is less than God-centered. In fact, I think that our current cult of Christian celebrity that centers on speakers and musicians can actually divert our students away from understanding, experiencing, and living under the supremacy of Christ.
Pretty amazing eh? And it arrived in my email box the same day I took delivery of the newest David Crowder CD. I love irony. Walt’s email goes on to direct attention to Paradise08.com which looks amazing and ironically is being supported by the biggest names who have created our consumeristic worship and teaching events, namely YS, YFC, and Doug Fields. In fact the master of hype at YFC and YS events is the worship designer for Paradise 08. Still, looks like it could be an important event in he revolution of youth ministry!
